Installation
Choose the file that matches your Minecraft version. The 26.3 beta is not a replacement for the full 1.21.1 mod. Do not install both Rivencraft JARs together.

Required mods
For Minecraft 1.21.1, install Rivencraft, Dynamic Dimensions AR Edition 0.9.1, and Bad Packets 0.8.2 on both client and server. A singleplayer installation needs these same required mods.
For the Minecraft 26.3 beta, install its matching Rivencraft JAR with NeoForge 26.3.0.99 and Java 25. Its first-party Age backend does not require Dynamic Dimensions or Bad Packets. Do not install 1.21.1 dependencies in a 26.3 instance.
The beta includes named books, Link Panel modifiers, the Ink Mixer and Book Binder, blue crystal growth, seeded random terrain/biome choices, authored terrain/biome distributions, and selected generation features. These include Rocks, vegetation, Dungeons, lakes, Floating Islands, Tendrils, Skylands, Spheres, Spikes, Obelisks, Crystal Formations, Dense Ores, and Star Fissures. Existing chunks are not regenerated. Material-bearing features accept a compatible preceding Block/Fluid page; unpaired materials choose a seeded compatible feature; most repeated features currently cap at 32 pages. This beta also ports 15 structure families including Abandoned Camps, Caves/Ravines feature pages, the four new vegetation pages, independent Normal/Fast/Slow/Off/Always/Storm weather, and linking sounds. Non-Cave arrivals trace exposed dry surfaces from above; Cave terrain starts its search at Y=64. Not every Creative page has a ported effect; unsupported pages are tinted red. Beta 1.0.1.98-beta.1 adds seeded completion for omitted terrain and biome controllers, structure-aware missing biome pools, full Native Cave pools distributed in Tiny regions, and stacking Accelerated random block ticks. Earlier celestial, eclipse, feature and structure support remains included. Settings persist per Age. Accelerated currently affects crops and other random-ticking blocks; machine acceleration is deferred for both versions under issue #112. Full writing recovery, discovery/stations, instability, crystal portals, optional-integration parity and random-page eligibility config remain unfinished. Modded biome surface-rule integration is also pending. Catalog protocol is 10: use matching client/server builds. Back up worlds: new populated Native Cave profiles cannot be read by earlier betas. Existing chunks are not rewritten.

None of these optional mods is needed for core Age travel on 1.21.1. Ecliptic Seasons is not supported for dynamic Ages in this version. The compatibility review records development checks. Optional integration support is not yet ported to 26.3.
Before updating
Stop the server and back up the entire world folder, not just an Age's dimension folder. Age definitions, books, and dimension data must be restored together. Do not migrate a 1.21.1 Rivencraft world to the 26.3 beta; cross-version save migration is not supported. Beta saves are not guaranteed to survive later port iterations.
On 1.21.1, follow Getting Started. If a book opens but its Age will not load, see the Age recovery guidance. Those gameplay instructions do not yet apply to the 26.3 beta; consult its release notes instead.
