  Rivencraft 0.4.0.0 — Milestone 4 complete Stable

  Milestone 4 — Writing system complete.

  • Pages, 27-position Notebooks, 88-tab Writing Desk, Book Binder, Ink Mixer, and completed Descriptive Books now form the persistent writing workflow.
  • Link Panel-only books still create random Ages; written symbols are retained in order for Milestone 5 grammar and generation.
  • Data-pack symbol IDs, including missing IDs, survive saves. Binder assembly now refuses unresolved symbol pages while keeping them recoverable.
  • Added regression checks for legacy page-free books, old writing and Desk migrations, workstation drops, full inventories, forged menu actions, and replayed output requests.
  • Verified with a NeoForge 1.21.1 dedicated-server run: all 64 required GameTests passed without optional preview mods. Build completed with JEI integration enabled.

  Migration: Existing page-free Descriptive Books keep their Age identity and require no conversion. Earlier bare-list writing reads as schema version 1; four-tab Desk data maps into the 88-tab layout. Back up existing worlds before upgrading.
