Acceptance criteria
Trace the relevant Legacy source and assets, recording exact player-visible behavior, defaults, structure placement/loot, portal rules, and crafting where present.
Identify what Rivencraft already completed in Milestones 2–6 (including crystal formations and Star Fissures) so follow-up issues do not reimplement it.
Record modern API limitations and deliberate adaptations, with source references and asset provenance/licensing.
Give the remaining Milestone 7 implementation issues concrete parity targets and testable boundaries; keep genuinely unsupported behavior explicit.
Dependencies: groundwork for the new library, portal, recipe, and polish issues.

in legacy, when entering an age with the active book in the players hand, the book would "drop" into a book entity that will despawn if not picked up in time. return links should also be disabled by default to match legacy behavior.
